Viakon, with 36 production lines in the power transmission area, was recording significant losses due to constant power interruptions caused by poor infrastructure in the area.<\/p>\n
On the one hand, they recorded 20 disturbances per month at the plant, although these interruptions could increase depending on other external variables.<\/p>\n
In total, there were 200 hours of downtime per year; and when the uninterruptible power systems were installed, the company reduced the problem by more than 70%.<\/p>\n
In addition, the time lost in production was offset by extra personnel, among other measures, which increased process costs. Added to this was the deterioration of the equipment.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf the equipment does not have clean energy, with a power factor as it should be, its useful life is weakened,\u201d said Julio Lara, Head of Maintenance at Viakon.<\/p>\n
